Board of Adjustment (1 Position) – District 3. Members of the Board of Adjustment shall be knowledgeable in the field of comprehensive planning and shall be familiar with the Osceola County Comprehensive Plan, the Osceola County Land Development Code and other applicable regulations. Members of the Board of Adjustment serve at the pleasure of the Board of County Commissioners. The Board of Adjustment shall have the authority to grant or deny, wholly or in part, any request for a variance from the specified regulations and grant conditional use requests pursuant to the appropriate findings and further that it is not contrary to the public interest and the health, safety, comfort, convenience, and welfare of the citizens of Osceola County, or that the request is in conflict with provisions of this Code. Must reside in County Commission District 3. Typically meets the 3rd Tuesday of each month. Terms are four (4) years, unless it is to fill a vacant position.

Code Enforcement Board (2 Positions) – General Contractor, Realtor. The Code Enforcement Board shall be empowered to hear and adjudicate cases presented before them on matters involving codes and ordinances adopted by the Osceola County Commission. It is the intent of the Board of County Commissioners, by adopting Chapter 7 of the Osceola County Code of Ordinances, to provide an equitable, expeditious, effective and inexpensive method of enforcing the County’s Code and Ordinances. Examples of some of the Codes the Code Board hears would be; occupational license violations, building code, fire, mechanical, electrical and plumbing codes, zoning and sign ordinance violations, and other various codes and ordinances. The Code Board is comprised of seven (7) members who shall be residents of the County and who shall be appointed by the Board of County Commission on the basis of experience or interest in the subject jurisdiction of the Board. Pursuant to Florida Statute, the membership of the Code Board shall, whenever possible, consist of the following: Architect, Business Person, Engineer, General Contractor, Subcontractor or Realtor. The Code Enforcement Board typically meets the third (3rd) Wednesday of every month at 3:00pm in the Board Chambers located on the fourth (4th) floor of the Administration Building.
